On May 4, 2017, we opened our doors to spa professionals from Texas and beyond. We were so excited to unveil what The Spa Mart team has been working on for months. Spa professionals and vendor partners were invited to celebrate with us as we officially launched our company. We were so grateful that our spa community showed up to support us in a big way and we are so very thankful.
How do I best describe that night in one word? Emotional. After many months of hard work from our entire team and countless late nights of strategy and preparation, we finally shared what The Spa Mart is all about and the answer is simple, people. All those like-minded spa professionals in one place learning about the latest and greatest in spa products, education, and our scholarship program warmed our hearts. Watching the interaction and the happy conversations was what we hoped for all along—to combine spa distribution with the people who help others to lead better, more relaxed and wellness inspired lives. It was amazing and emotional! Having our families, best friends, spa colleagues and vendor partners all in one place made it such a special gathering!
As Tori and I toasted the crowd, we couldn’t help but to get emotional. Opening a business is such a gift and we are truly humbled by the outpouring of support we have received. As Tori and I shared our visions to uplift our industry, thanked everyone for being there, gave shout outs to each other, our significant others and our team, and to all the spa pros in front us, the excitement is the air was palpable.
Of course, when I mentioned my loving family gathered from Virginia to Alaska to support us and my dearly departed Mom that I know is always watching over me, I LOST IT. This moment in time was so special, so uniquely unlike any other I have experienced, I know I will never forget it. Looking over at Tori and feeling so honored to start this movement with her and listening to the cheers of support and encouragement from the crowd of spa pros, watching tears run down many of their faces as well—my heart filled with gratitude and I realize just how much I love our spa industry but more importantly, how much I love people and building relationships and helping others to grow and succeed. I was standing in front of a group of people who embody everything our spa industry exemplifies—helping and nourishing others, uplifting and supporting those who need it, comforting and listening to folks on a daily basis, providing results-oriented treatments to change and improve lives, and caring so passionately about what they do each day. In that moment, I was so thankful for them and so fired up about our industry, more than ever before. As I raised my arms in the air to celebrate and shout our mantra, “Let the movement begin!”, I realized it already has. Thanks so much for all of you who shared and took the time to be involved in our big day—continued success to all of you and thank you for everything you do to make our spa industry GREAT!
